Write your letter
Prepare and review a dispute letter
Use your own facts, review the full letter, and download a packet you are ready to check.
The video is not available yet. Every step is written below.
- Choose the report item and recipient. Explain what you believe is wrong and why, using your own facts.
- Read the full letter. Check the account, recipient, and requested change. Edit anything that does not match your situation.
- Save or print the packet, then choose “Yes, I have it.” If you did not save or print it, choose “Not yet.” The instruction cover sheet is for you; do not mail it. Downloading does not send the letter.
What progress looks like: The saved letter accurately describes your disagreement. You have checked it before signing and mailing.
