Track the response and your next step
Keep the response with your records and compare it with your report before choosing another action.
The video is not available yet. Every step is written below.
- Keep your mailing and delivery records. The app counts from the mailing date you enter; that is not a receipt date or legal deadline.
- When a response arrives, read it and record the outcome in My Letters. Bureaus generally investigate within 30 days of receipt; some cases allow 45 days.
- Compare the response and any updated report with your records. If a real disagreement remains, review the available next step. A mailed letter or completed timer does not prove a correction.
What progress looks like: Your records show what was sent, what the response says, and what still needs checking. Measure verified changes, not promises of a higher score.

After mailing, keep your letter, mailing receipt, and any response together.
When a response arrives, read it before changing the status in your tracker. Record what it actually says.
If information was corrected, check a later report to see how it now appears.
If it was verified or you are asked for more information, compare that response with your records before deciding what to do next.
Do not send another letter automatically just because time passed.
Progress can mean a clearer report, a complete letter, proof of mailing, or a recorded response. A score change alone does not tell you whether your dispute worked.
Dispute Goat helps you keep the process organized. You make the decisions, and results vary.
Watching is optional. You can take this step whenever you are ready.
